Pinball at Cedar Point

One of the best (if not only) public places in Northwest Ohio to play old EM pins is the giant arcade at Cedar Point.  Tucked way at the rear of the arcade, stands an even dozen 1970's vintage EM machines.  Included in the group are the famed Bally Fireball and 4 Million BC along with a Sea Ray, and an Old Chicago.  Williams is also represented with a Grand Prix, a Travel Time and a Straight Flush.  Gottlieb has a Flying Carpet, a Pioneer  and an Abra-Cadabra.  There's even a Chicago Coin Casino with it's dual spinners and while not EM's the two Hercules machines are always good for a try.

Unfortunately, usually a third of the machines are out of order, with another third not operating at full speed, but that still leaves enough for the EM buff like me to play with some fulfillment.  On our recent trip on Labor Day Weekend 2004, the Grand Prix and the Casino were down, with the 4 Million BC playing with an occasional stuck 1000 point relay and the Fireball yielding some strange scoring.  It's a shame to see them in the condition that they are.  I wish that they'd take better care of these treasures but I guess they have to worry about the Top Thrill Dragster breaking down every day so I can understand. Below are some of the pictures from the visit.
